John, Yes, send me your summary in Word format. Thanks, ...Mike -----Original Message----- From: bp2000-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:bp2000-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of John Beatty Sent: Monday, November 15, 2010 8:39 AM To: bp2000@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [BP2000] Genealogy website and Y-DNA Mike, I would like to get the lineage summary for L-24 updated and revised. It is erroneous as it currently exists on the BP-2000 site, but Les has it correct on the DNA site. I have just completed and published a new book, "James Beaty and Ann Bennett of Ballycanew, County Wexford, Ireland, and More Than Two Centuries of Their American Descendants," 2 vols., 1415 pages. I don't have the data in GEDCOM format. I wrote the book using Word, and I have a short lineage summary I have compiled that I can give you in Word or in PDF format for the Lineage summary. Will this work? I may at some time in the future agree to post volume one of my book online. There are a large number of high-resolution TIFF photographs in it, but it could theoretically be posted in PDF format. Volume 2 has data on many living people so I am more hesitant to put it up online right now. Please let me know how I can update the Lineage summary with something other than GEDCOM. Many thanks. John Beatty L-24 >>> "mallen" 11/14/10 6:20 PM >>> Nelda and all... If someone will compose the list, I will add it to our website. It would be great to have it both ways -- a simple list of tested lines, plus a note or icon on each tested line in the linage summaries pages. This second option would be a bit time consuming. I may have more "free" time this winter to work on a project I planed a couple years ago to automate the lineage summaries -- in a searchable database -- that would make it easier to maintain and to add things like this in the future. ...Mike Allen -----Original Message----- From: bp2000-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:bp2000-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Nelda Percival Sent: Sunday, November 14, 2010 1:00 PM To: bp2000@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [BP2000] Genealogy website and Y-DNA Joe, In my opinion the actual Y-DNA data should stay at the DNA website under the control of Les. Those charts are quite intensive and need his expertise. My thoughts were just to list the lineages, so you could know at a glance if a line had tested. A quick reference.
