    3. I am trying to place a John R. Beaty who was enumerated in 1850 in Pulaski Co., Kentucky. He was a 39 yr old male, b. VA. Recorded with him was Elizabeth, age 21 or 25 (they were enumerated twice). This appears to be their marr entry: John R. Beaty marr Elizabeth Gragg, d/o Hiram Gragg; 5 May 1845 Pulaski Co. John R. Baitie wrote his will 19 Jan. 1858 leaving his estate to Elizabeth; no other heirs were mentioned and there were no children with them in 1850. The will was proved in Pulaski Co. Court 15 Mar 1858. This is not the John "P" Beaty of L-119. Could John R. be a son of L-4's John Beattie and Sarah Edmondson? Their 1820 census household includes 2 males under 10. I can only account for one: William, b. abt 1817. Does anyone know who John "R" Beaty belonged to? Diana Powell L-4

    3. No. John R. Baitie is not a son of John Beatie and Sally Edmondson of L4. There are several Beaty/Beatie families in Pulaski Co., KY. I remember one who married into the Gragg family but it wasn't L4. On Thu, Jul 8, 2010 at 10:30 AM, Diana Powell <dianapowell@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > I am trying to place a John R. 3. Hi JoAnn, Thanks for putting your head together with me on this one. I realize this is speculation but would like to pursue it a little further as I searched the lineage archives and did not find a John Beaty marr to an Elizabeth Gragg. I agree that there were several other Beaty/Beatie families in Pulaski County at an early date - I just finished wading through the Pulaski Co. probate records. But John R. was not the son of John and Mary (Forgey) Beatie (per that John's estate distribution) and I don't believe he was the son of Martin Beaty. If John R. is established as the son of a completely different line (which I agree is entirely possible) I'd love to know so I can climb down from my bandwagon. Otherwise how can we say for sure that "John R." isn't at least a candidate for John and Sarah of L-4?.... especially since - to my knowledge anyway, no one has identified the second male under 10 in John's 1820 Pulaski Co. HH - and the corresponding male 15-20 in his 1830 household? Diana PS Do you list a dau Eliza for John and Sallie? JoAnn wrote: > No. John R.
