Yes, I have a daughter Eliza for John and Sarah. I have her born abt. 1813 and married to Cyranius Wait on 16 Oct 1828 in Pulaski, KY according to Pulaski Marriage Book 1. They supposedly had a son, Daniel Webster Wait but he wasn't born until about 1840 according to census records. I have found no death records for Eliza. I believe that I got my initial information on this family from Redmond Cole. I have been through the will, marriage, cemetery and land records of Pulaski Co., KY. I never found any indication that John Baity that married Elizabeth Gragg was the L4 family. I would have to dig into my records (heaven help us!) to find what family I believe the Beaty/Gregg condition applies to--but it wasn't L4. Joann, looks like I'm following around in your footsteps! I can add one bit abt Eliza that might be of interest. The 1828 year of marriage for Eliza Beaty and Cyranius Wait that is reported in the printed abstracts of Pulaski Marr Bk 1 is in error. I looked at the original register on film and the year was 1838. That explains why Daniel Webster doesn't appear on the 1840 census. I think he was born shortly after the census and that Eliza died soon after his birth (I couldn't find a record of her death either). Cyrenius remarried by 1843 - to Mary Jane Newell - sister to the other 2 Newells who married into John and Sally's family. Cyrenius and Mary Jane were enumerated in 1850 with two children (a 6 year old and a 2 year old) so I figure they married by 1843. Webster was also living with them. He was 10. Cyrenius died in 1868 but Webster continued to make his home with Mary Jane. He was listed as 28 in 1870. I could not find him after that. John's land was divided among his heirs in 1863 (Pulaski DB 20:139). The deed, recorded on 19 Jan. 1863, noted that the tract was John's home tract as conveyed to him by his father, William Beatie. The 7 heirs were named as: Andrew J. James and Mary A. James (of Franklin Co., KY), R.F. Beatie, F.V. Beatie, Daniel W. Wait, Wm E. Beatie, T.F. Beatie and Emaline Beatie (all of Pulaski Co.). Diana Thanks for the thoughts re John R. Beaty - I'll quit worrying abt it. > Yes, I have a daughter Eliza for John and Sarah.
