David H. Beaty 10 is in Habersham County, GA in 1870 with parents, Hiram & Nancy Beaty and several siblings. David H. Beaty 16 is in Banks County, GA in 1880 with same parents. I am having internet problems so this is all I found before they said I was no longer connected and could not get back on Ancestry.com!!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: Laurel Baty<mailto:laurelbaty@comcast.net> To: bp2000@rootsweb.com<mailto:bp2000@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, May 16, 2011 3:14 PM Subject: Re: [BP2000] Query On Findagrave.com there is a Homer David Beaty, born 6 June 1900 and died August 1979 buried in South Park Cemetery, Brazoria County, Texas. Other Beatys in the cemetery include Myrtis Belva Beaty [1907 - 1980] and Homer Lewis Beaty [1930 -2001]. Homer D. Beaty and Myrtis B Smith had a daughter, Vernice, 7 Nov 1935 in Harris County, Texas. There is an online family tree on Ancestry.com that states he was born in Alto, Habersham County, Georgia and gives his parents as David Harm Beaty and Alice Frances Morris. The source of the parents names is not given but a Texas death certificate is given. There is a possible Homer Beaty in this family in 1910 but he does not appear with them in 1900, 1920 or 1930. 1900 United States Federal Census Name: David Baity [David H Baity] Home in 1900: Berlin, Banks, Georgia [Homer, Banks, Georgia] Age: 40 Birth Date: 1859 Birthplace: Georgia Race: White Gender: Male Relationship to head-of-house: Head Father's Birthplace: North Carolina Mother's Birthplace: Georgia Spouse's Name: Alice F Baity Marriage year: 1892 Marital Status: Married Years married: 8 Occupation: View on Image Household Members: Name Age David Baity 40 Alice F Baity 25 Joe Baxter Baity 7 Mamie Lee Baity 4 Dora May Baity 2 Reuben C Baity brother Source Citation: Year: 1900; Census Place: Berlin, Banks, Georgia; Roll: T623_179; Page: 17B; Enumeration District: 3. 1910 United States Federal Census Name: David Bady [David Brady] Age in 1910: 50 Estimated Birth Year: 1860 Birthplace: Georgia Relation to Head of House: Head [Self (Head)] Father's Birth Place: South Carolina Mother's Birth Place: Georgia Spouse's Name: Francis Bady Home in 1910: Golden Hill, Banks, Georgia Marital Status: Married Race: White Gender: Male Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age David Bady 50 Francis Bady 35 Baxter Bady 17 Mamie Bady 14 Rose Bady 12 Haner Bady 9 [Homer?] Rosie Bady 7 Alice Bady 5 Marvin Bady 2 Source Citation: Year: 1910; Census Place: Golden Hill, Banks, Georgia; Roll: T624_171; Page: 10B; Enumeration District: 0005; Image: 141; FHL Number: 1374184. 1920 United States Federal Census Name: David H Beaty Home in 1920: Cains, Barrow, Georgia Age: 60 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1860 Birthplace: Georgia Relation to Head of House: Self (Head) [Head] Spouse's Name: Alice F Beaty Father's Birth Place: North Carolina Mother's Birth Place: Georgia Marital Status: Married Race: White Sex: Male Home owned: Rent Able to read: Yes Able to Write: Yes Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age David H Beaty 60 Alice F Beaty 44 Rosa Beaty 15 Alice F Beaty 12 [10] Marvin Beaty 10 Willie Beaty 8 George Beaty 6 Ellie Beaty 4 [4 7/12] Izebelle Beaty 1 [1 9/12] Source Citation: Year: 1920;Census Place: Cains, Barrow, Georgia; Roll: T625_234; Page: 2A; Enumeration District: 20; Image: 839. 1930 United States Federal Census Name: David B Beaty Home in 1930: Chattooga, Oconee, South Carolina View Map Age: 70 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1860 Birthplace: Georgia Relation to Head of House: Head Spouse's Name: Frantz Beaty Race: White Household Members: Name Age David B Beaty 70 Frantz Beaty 54 Rosie E Beaty 26 Willie Beaty 18 George W Beaty 16 Ella Mae Beaty 14 Isabelle Beaty 12 John Beaty 8 Source Citation: Year: 1930; Census Place: Chattooga, Oconee, South Carolina; Roll: 2207; Page: 2A; Enumeration District: 4; Image: 268.0. Unfortunately, she didn't know much. Here is what she wrote: <<Homer David Beaty married to a Mrytis (spelling?) Smith who had a sister Sybil Smith... I do not have the part of Georgia they were from... they had three children the oldest a daughter named Delphia born in Georgia... a son named Homer Louis Beaty who was a home birth supposedly in Goose Creek/Baytown area of Texas about 1930 and the another daughter Vernice also born in Texas... Homer Louis Beaty had two daughters Martha Caroline Beaty 1952 and Nancy Lee Beaty 1953... that's the extent of my information I'm afraid... its not much but its all I have at this point... most of them are gone and there is no one to ask for further information... I do appreciate you getting back in touch with me... especially so quickly... its very kind of you... Laurel, Ranelle, and Donna, Excellent! With the information you provided, I conclude that Caroline's lineage is L-540. Two public trees on Ancestry.com tie Homer David Beaty to David Harm Beaty in Habersham Co., GA. Habersham, Banks, and Rabun Counties in Georgia are contiguous in the NE part of the state, so the geography works. I will send Caroline some information and put her in contact with Kathy Clark (the L-540 researcher). I think Caroline will be a happy camper. Thanks for your help. Les Beaty, L-20
