    3. Hi Linda, First, The Beatty Project 2000, (BP2000) does not have a message board. This is a mailing list. A mailing list is a way to communicate with every member of the mailing list. You send a message to the mailing list address (after you join it) and every member (including you) gets a copy. Then depending on the person's (recieving the email) interest they may or may not respond. the responce (reply) goes back to the mailing list and everyone gets a copy. A copy of all messages are also sent to the mailing list archives. (open to public review) The members of this list are really good about helping people looking for information on the well over 400 different Beatty (all spellings) lineages. Normally on this mailing list, what you put in the subject line isn't important, but it can sure help someone if you put good subject information there. You might be asking what do yoiu mean by good subject information? Well, If your asking a question about some one in your email then put that person's name and some other data if you have it.. Like - John Beatty b. 1645 Scotland need children's names. THen in the email state who what where and what you need. Some of us OLD researchers have a lot on our plates so the more info you can provide helps us find the RIGHT John Beatty. WE do prefer that you visit the Beatty Project 2000's website and spend some time looking around and being this is a private mailing list we ask that you agree not to sharee other people's research data.. WE are not saying you can't share data gathered /researched by members here..if it is on your ancestry, just that if you refer the person asking to this mailing list then others actually researching that same person can connect with the new person.. I hope this helps and answers your questions Copy sent to the mailing list Nelda L.
