Hi, I wanna tell a story - Being I admin the Gilpin Ydna project my examples are with the Gilpins. Now I know, some say what's that got to do with Beattys?!! The story could be anyone, any surname.... In 1998 I started looking for my Gilpins. I had my father, Grandfather, and Great grandfather (after a lot of work) but the trail dead ended there.... This year 2011 I have finally connected to what is most likely his father through Y-dna testing. I can now spend those hundreds of hours and untold amounts of money waisted on other people's Gilpins, on my own. By tracing backwards through the DNA (perfect match) Gilpin's life I have a much better chance of finding some writen record with John G's name on it. Is testing worth it? In my humble opinion .... absolutly! I tested My brother's Y & MTDNA and my autosomal chromosomes.... and I did not waste a penny! Nelda
