Hi Gerri, The BCG web page has a list of Certified Genealogists: http://www.bcgcertification.org/associates/index.php You can search by State. The only certified genealogist who specializes in Pennsylvania that I personally know is Elissa Scalise Powell. She is a highly respected genealogist. She taught several sections in the Boston University Genealogical Certificate class that I took last year. However, she specializes in Western Pennsylvania. I see from the BCG webpage that Kay Haviland Freilich specializes in Chester County research--she is a well known published genealogist. You could also search the Association of Professional Genealogists web page: http://www.apgen.org/ Although anyone can be listed on this page (no certification necessary), there are many highly competent researchers listed. The reason I suggested a certified genealogist is that I think your problem is a complex one. You need someone who is highly knowledgeable in early Pennsylvania sources and skilled at kinship determination. I am working towards certification and highly respect those who have achieved this goal! I think your suggestion to hire an American certified genealogist to research Chester Co. is a good one. Do you happen to know one that you can recommend?
