If you can find a male second cousin named Beatty you are in pretty good shape. There is likely to be little change in 3 generations unless there is something like an adoption. On that time scale you are likely to know of any irregularities. --Earl Beaty, DNA Project Administrator

Your lineage has ties to Chester County PA and to early Tennessee--and there are many Beaty lineages from these regions. I look forward to seeing your DNA results! I think this is L-93-maybe a problem with James' first wife but a lot of circumstantial evidence pointing that way. I think this is L-93 George next to Thomas. How they are related we don't know. It was from the 1899 Pioneers of York, Co. Nebraska pages 584-585. William Beatty is one of the old settlers and representative farmers and stock raisers of New York township. York County, and has been quite a conspicious figure in the development and extension of the agricultural interests of the community in which he has made is home for more than a quarter of a century. Mr. Beatty was born in Fayette county, Pennsylvania, June 6 1828, a son of George and Mary (Mahon) Beatty, both of whom were natives of Ireland. The parents came to America in 1820 and settled first in Pennsyvania, but later moved to Illinios and made their home home in Marshal County. tHey afterward moved to Marshal County , Iowa, where they both died. The father was a farmer and followed that occupation all this life. They Reared a family of ten sons and one daughter, but only three sons are now living. William Beatty, the subject of this skech was educated in Illinois , and began working on the farm when quite young. He made his home with his parents until twenty-five years of age, and then began life for himself. He lived in Iowa until 1872 and them moved to York County Nebraska, took a homestead in New York tounship and is still making his residence on that farm. Since living here he has placed upon it all of the improvenments which now add so much to its appearance and valve. His first home, however was a dug-out, but after time , in order to keep abreast of the advance of civilation, he suppanted this humble domicile with a sod house, and this likewise t finally had to give place to a frame house. Although Mr. Beatty has claimed his residence in this township since first settlement here he went to the State of Washington in 1889 and spent three years there for the improvement of his health. In 1852 Mr. Beatty was married in Marshall county , Illinois, to Miss Lovina Brumsey, a native of North Carolina and a daughter of John and Susanah Brumsey, both nativs of North Carolina. The father was a ship builder, but after moving with his family to Illonios, in 1833 , he followed the occupation of farming. Our subjects and Mrs. Beatty are the parents of a family of dseven children, five sons, and two daughters, as follows: Carie A, Elmira A m, now mMrs Allcock, Benjamin, MAry F, Andrew J , FrancisC and Joshua. The family are all amebers of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In political views Mr. Beatty is as a Republican, and under that administration derved as the second postmaster in Thayer. He is one of the substatial representative me of New York township, having been one of the early settlers, endured the hardships and privations of pioneers life, the devastions of the grasshoppers, but in spite of of it all has become one of its prosperous citixens , and has done much to to aid in its growth and developement. Note to all, All the locations and times follow my line with McLin Beatty and my Grandmother had pictures of Benjamin Beatty a cousin. Does anyone use hae this in their line? Thanks. Hi Virginia, My Sarah was a Beatty by birth, born in PA. Her father was William Beatty. He married Penelope Mount. After he died, Penelope married William's brother, James. They migrated to Marion County (now Morrow County) Ohio in the 1820's. Sarah married Jacob Cooper, had two children then after his death married T.L. Titus. They migrated to IL then to IA. They had come from Montgomery Co., KY. The Coopers were in Bartholomew Co. about 1825, coming from Grant Co., KY. Joseph Cooper married Louisa Beaty, daughter of Joseph Beaty, in 1827, in Bartholomew Co., she gave birth and promptly died, then he married her sister Dulcena in 1828. This family then moved in about 1842 to Tipton Co., IN, followed later by my own Beaty family headed by William Beaty who was Dulcena's uncle and brother of Joseph. Was your Sarah Beaty Cooper Titus a Cooper, or a Beaty who had married a Cooper, then a Titus?
