FA2: Date: 1690, PLace: went to Ireland after the battle of the Boyne. Went with James. ~~~~~~~~~ Note from Annie Harris, L-05 extracted from the book The Genealogy of Robert Beatty 1760-1823 Introduction pg V John Beatty, James Beatty, and Christiana Beatty came from north of Ireland sailing May 20, 1729 and landed in New York October 4, 1729 after a terrible voyage. Among those who succumbed to disease and hardships on the voyage were John Beatty and his wife and five children, and also a child of Christiana. The Beatty's surviving the voyage settled at Little Britain, New Windsor, N.Y. Christiana Beatty, widow of John of Antrim, Ireland was a sister of Charles Clinton, granddaughter of William Clinton, a grandson of Henry Clinton, second Earl of Lincoln. By a former wife, her husband John Beatty had William, Elsie, John, Arthur and James. John Beatty Jr. died on shipboard leaving sons Arthur and James. (NOTE: This is a little confusing it is better to give dates on a person rather then JR? Junior to whom making him whose son? I believe this is John Beatty b.1665 husband of Christina, rather then her stepson, John b.after 1705, who has no information listed at all, not wife or children, although, John Beatty and wife and five children as listed above could also have been John Beatty b. after 1705 /wife and children.. ..Back to John Jr.? Leaving sons Arthur and James.. Which John? b. 1665 or after 1705? John b. 1665 has two sons by those names born to his first wife Elise Ross. They were born after 1705 and 1714..aged between 15 and 24.. fifteen year old would be considered a child but not at 24 .. Still guessing..Nelda) Christina Clinton Beatty was the mother of Charles, Mary, Martha, and a child who died on the voyage. Christina married again in America a James Scott and died in New York City in 1776-7 aged ninety. "Robert Beatty and brother Charles were early settlers in Marbletown, Ulster county, N.Y., and doubtless were related to those just mentioned. Charles Beatty died in 1726-27. Robert had sons, Robert and Thomas. Robert Beatty Jr. died in Newburg N.Y. in 1779 leaving wife Mary and children Thomas, John, Robert, Francis, Elizabeth Ann, and Mary." (copied from Allegheny Valley, History of Ulster Co., N.Y. pg. 721) page VI, The family described below were already in America when the Christiana Beatty family arrived. (The following notes were gathered from a public Library in New York, Ulster Co., exact reference to book not recorded.) The above not is not my note but a note in the introduction of the book. 3. Thanks Earl, I hadn't checked John's (ID73) DYS464x test results yet. Well, Line L-05 we are not the normal Beattys. We are Beatties just not related to the others in any way! Now we need to find out who we are related to... Thank you Earl... I'm real busy right now on the Gilpin group which like the Beatties have different unrelated lineages...but, I hope one of the other L-5 members would try to locate other genertic matches for us. Now referred to as the Revolutionary War Cemetery in Salem, Washington Co NY. There is also another burial ground in Salem that has great records and in most cases lists dates, ages, widow of, etc. Both are on line and easily viewable. Thanks to Ray Beaty's help I have sorted thru this clan with him and now know my lineage back to Thomas Beatty and his sons arrival here from Ireland. Since all references are to them being Scottish, it is probable that they fled Scotland and were a Protestant enclave in Ireland for at least one generation before arriving in PA and and 2 years later moving to NY and founding the village of Salem. Can anyone help? _____ From: GERALD SHEEHAN [mailto:sheehan@prodigy.net] Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2007 3:10 PM To: naturalsoft@ameritech.net Subject: beatty family To Mike Allen--I am working on my family lineage. Just started to work on my maternal grandfathers side. My grandfather is Herbert Wilson Keyes b. 5 July 1901 d. July 1977. His parents are Robert Keyes and Susan Beatty. I found a marriage with those names for 05 Nov 1887 in Manhattan, New York, NewYork. Their births were listed as coming from Ireland. Susan's parents may have been James Beatty and Wilson--I believe her name may have been Anna. No other info on them. My grandfather told us he was born in Williamsbridge, New York. He had an older brother Robert Keyes. I believe that Robert and Susan came to Wisconsin but then went back to New York because they did not like it there. I assume they are buried there but have not researched that as yet.

    3. /Teresa and Donna, Reading your work with interest....will add just a few notes and additions... In transactions.. #3 William Batey (Beaty) L2D and Lucinda Batey L2C ,sell land, 40A Oct 1837(land given by patents) .......*I can't find William Beaty acquiring this land in BLM records. This William inherited a 40 A. farm in his father's will (William Beaty SR ) who died 1845... the land description on that patent is - NESE sec19 TWP 50N, Range 20W Saline. and should be in the deed transfer records of 1845.. William (JR) and wife Lucinda left Mo for Texas about 1854, I think....so probably sold more land at that time.. Guess I am hinting..for some 'lookups'.if you get back to the courthouse in Marshall... #5 - L2D Robert & Elizabeth Beaty.Apr 1839..They bought land about this time and moved to what became Bates Co. MO. Both buried there. #9 David & Neoma(Naomi) Beaty Not L2D....but L2C # 12 Joseph W. Beaty & Emmalie...I have never figured out where this one belongs...But . he is not an L2D...or at least not one of William Beaty (sr) sons.. . Early Marriages...John Baty(Beaty) and Tirenna (Perinna) Sandridge., Dec 1837.... Jerry Scott feels pretty sure that this John is the un-ided 5th son of L2D's progenitor, William Beaty. Census 90TH Dist.(1850)*This was the year..where all the Beatys got two T's and no pg. 55 -ies.. Milly Beatty 50(Mulatto) KY Elizabeth 29 ( Mulatto)KY *These are the two women named in William Beaty Will (died 1845) Marlene L2D

    3. Teresa, I thought the same thing, but then, I realized that Robert must have clicked the Reply button, thinking that he was replying to the person who posted the message, but he did not notice that the response went, ONLY, to the BP2000 Mailing List, instead of the person who had posted the message. I do not know at what point or what year this changed, but we used to be able to reply the person who posted the message. If we hit the Reply All button, the reply used to go to both, the person who posted the message and to the BP2000 Mailing List, and now, it just goes TWICE to BP2000. I wish someone would explain that to us. In order to make sure that you see this message, Teresa, I had to copy and paste your address on the "To' line. 3. Teresa, You can not send a private message through the mailing list. And if it was a message that went through the mailing list then a copy would be in the archives.
