    3. Hi Sure, rootsweb.com keeps archives on every list unless when created it was specified no archives. Normally you would go to the rootweb.com home page and in the top bar click on mailing lists. then a new window will open: see: Looking for the old Mailing Lists home page? You can still find it by selecting "Browse mailing lists" under the "Find a mailing list" search box or by clicking here. I like the click here .... This takes you to an index for all the mailing lists. Under surnames find BP2000. that takes you here: http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/surname/b/bp2000.html now at the bottom of the writeup....see: Archives. You can search the archives for a specific message or browse them, going from one message to another. 2. Les Beaty
    3. All, I'm looking for a lineage in which the earliest known ancestor was John Beatty of Bourbon County, Kentucky. His son, David L.Beatty was born 3 Dec 1798 and died 21 Feb 1881 Louisville, Kentucky. He was Mayor of Louisville at one time. According to Wikipedia, "David L. Beatty (December 3, 1798 – February 21, 1881) was the fifth Mayor of Louisville, Kentucky serving from 1841 to 1844. He was born to early settlers in Bourbon County, Kentucky and raised by his grandparents in Jefferson County, Kentucky." I don't know who his grandparents were. Anybody recognize this family? Les Beaty, L-20

    3. Dear Laurel, Thank you very much for your response to my inquiry. Your reference to William Ferrington is very interesting. It so happens that he was a brother to Capt. William Batey's first wife, Mary Betty and they were also cousins. In fact, our two lines have had contact in recent years. Andy Batey, who lives near San Antonio has visited our family reunion which occurs in Middle Tennessee each August. For whatever reason, the two families changed the spelling of their name when they moved to Tennessee in 1808. Our lines are accurate from Capt. William forward but are somewhat confused going backward. The Line 64 as published in BP2000 raises a number of questions regarding the name spelling changing from Batte to Betty and then to Batey. Although this is certainly possible, my record search in Brunswick did not indicate this. I am hoping that someone will have a family connection to William Betty, brother to rev. John, that will clarify his descendants and the possible connection to Line 64. Thank you again for your help. Thomas Elliott Batey

    3. I'm L 244 BTW. Looking at your lineage summary there are some intriguing parallels. 3. Yes, I would like to have more info. My great-great grandfather was George Beatty. I recently found out from a statement in a biographical history of Henry County, IA, that he was brought to the US (colonies?) when he was 6 from the "Emerald Isle" and lived in Cross Creek. Old family documents lead me to believe that Thomas, who I believe was a cordwainer, was his father, but Thomas could have been his uncle. The naming pattern for George's kids starts with John, so maybe John was his father and died or was somehow left behind in Ireland. There are kids named Thomas and Margaret later among George's offspring. There was also a William Beatty connected somehow...witnessed some wills of other proved relatives of mine. He would have been a contemporary of Thomas and Margaret. Thanks for responding, Tom Beatty ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marvin Beatty" <mtbeatty@wisc.edu> To: <bp2000@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 17, 2010 3:56 PM Subject: Re: [BP2000] Washington County PA Beattys > Yes, they are the earliest know members of BP lineage 044.
