    2. Does this group of Overton County, TN Beaty fit into one of the BP-2000 lines? The Robert Beaty and his wife fit the age of our Robert E. Beaty (L-405) and wife and their first child was not born until 1824 which also fits. He was probably born in TN. RaNelle Parker L-405 & L-324

    3. Yes, the William would be a contemporary of my great-grandfather, John Clinton BEATTY and his brother William Henry BEA(T)Y and their brother George (If it is indeed their brother in that 1870 census). That could mean that it was a William, who was one of the two brothers (of seven), James Lewis BEATTY IV and William? who survived the battle at Chattanooga. Edward Benjamin BEA(T)Y, son and 3rd-born of the 13 children of William Henry and Mary Jane (GOULD) BEATY, was born 05 December 1876 in Walkerton, Indiana. He retired from Oregon State University as a mathematics professor and one of Oregon's top Masons. He died in Eugene, Oregon on 03 September 1963 while on a visit to Eugene. He had graduated from Oregon State in 1903 and did graduate work at the University of Washington and the University of California, where he received a master of arts degree in 1916. Edward Benjamin BEATY and his first wife, whom he married in 1905, Sylvia M. (SPAULDING), had one son, Edward Benjamin "Ned" BEATY. After her death, he married in 1912 to Mabel (MOSS) WELSH, and they had a daughter, Elizabeth. I think I will post his obituary on the BP2000. 3. Bobbie and Beatty Cousins, This one that I copied from the first group of the 1870 Census listings of Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington, and this George might be the younger brother of William Henry BEATY and the older brother of my great- grandfather John Clinton "Clint" BEATTY (Two "T"s). However, Edward Benjamin BEATY, first son of Wm. Henry and Mary Jane (GOULD) BEATY, was the first of their children to move to Corvalis, Benton Co., OR, and he was not born until 1876. It could be that there were already BEATY/BEATTY families in Eugene Oregon, which caused Edward Benjamin BEATTY and others in the William Henry BEATY family to settle there, and George might have gone there to visit in 1870. Beaty, George Age: 21 Gender: M Race: W Birthplace: IL State: Oregon County: BENTON Locale: CORVALLIS P O Series: M593 Roll: 1285 Part: 1 Page: 82A This is the family of my great-great-grandparents, James Lewis BEATTY IV and his wife Ann Maria (WILCOX): 1. Harriet BEATTY, b. 1843, d. 1870, no children. 2. Elizabeth Ann "Lydia/Liddy" BEATTY, b. 10 Nov. 1846, Walkerton, St. Joseph Co., IN, m. 07 March 1870 to Edward Martin CLEMENTS, 11 children, d. 03 02 July 1903, Kaleva, Manistee Co., MI. 3. George BEATTY, b. 1852, Bloomington, McLean Co., IL, never married, d. July 1893, no children. This could be the George, but he must have been just visiting Oregon. Edward Benjamin BEATY, son of George's older brother William Henry BEATY, was not born until 1876. Could George have been visiting relatives who lived in Corvalis, Benton Co., Oregon? --- 5. 1. Re: [BP2000] Greene County TN/ NC
    2. Does anyone recognize the below Alexander and James? James should be the L2 James, since he lived in Green Co. before he moved to Cumberland Co., KY and then on to Rutherford Co., TN. However, I believe the known L2 Alexander was born in 1768; died 1850 in Clinton Co., KY. As I read this, he would have only been 12 when this deed was entered in 1780. Any ideas?
