Hi, I'm one of those non football people.. Now, I'm not sure if this is the person but, think about this. My Hannah Beatty, Line 5; Birth Date: About 1756, Birth Place: Co Down, IRE, Death Date: 20 Nov 1847, Death Place: Union Co., PA, at age 91.. Notice the PA she had a brother John Beatty, Birth: 1754; Place: County Down, Ireland; Death: 26 Mar 1822, Place: Lancaster, Fairfield County, Ohio NOTICE: Marriage: 1782 Place: near McAllisterville, Lost Creek Valley, central Pennsylvani his second spouce is Elizabeth Margaret Gray.. Is there a lineage # for this Henry Beatty? The 4th Regiment reported to Brigadier General Robert Taylor, commander of the Norfolk Military District. Regimental commanders were: Lt. Col. Henry Beatty (Frederick), April - October 1813. Dinah L199
Laurel and Donna: You are right....it is Steward. It is a weird letter S that looks like an H!! Glad the typewriter was invented. Do we have any further info on him? And what is a fishmonger (he also worked from the water)? Living alone...is he than not married? He is a brother (a few years younger than Benjamin) born in 1790ish. Sorry for all the questions! Also, is there lineage information from the Benjamin Beatty that crossed the Delaware with George Washington? Jayne Be certain to double check that it is not just a weird letter St and Steward could look like Howard. I just went to check the Steward in the original entry in 1850 and your eye can really deceive you and make you think it is an elaborate cursive "H" . 1850 TRENTON-WEST WARD 183 216 BEATTY STEWARD 60 1790 NJ Steward Beatty 60 NJ; living alone. In 1961 mom became Postmaster at Kneeland, working to serve her community until she was 75 years young. On November 15, 2003, as we kissed mom and told her how very much we loved her, she gently slipped away from us to beautiful Isle of Somewhere. For non-football fans on Thanksgiving evening. I have wondered for a few years who this John Beatty was who died in Marion twp., Centre co., PA and I put the following together. I suspect bits and pieces of all the following answer who John was. Does anyone recognize the following John Beatty? It is rather like a jigsaw puzzle at this point but I think he belongs to a lineage. Possibly a bro to L-126? and both may be sons of John of the pension for Rev. service. You state that one John Beatty came to America prior to the Revolutionary War and settled in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and that two of his children were Joseph and Samuel, Samuel having settled in Westmoreland County, where he married Margaret Lemmon. There is no claim for pension on file based upon service in the Revolutionary War of a John Beatty who was old enough to have been the father of Joseph Beaty (S. 35188) or of the Samuel Beatty (S. 34646) whose records were furnished you October 15, 1938 and May 29, 1937, respectively. The record has been found of a John Beatty (S. 22644) who emigrated to this country and of a John Beaty(W. 5803) of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Those records are furnished you herewith as they may aid you in your research. Very truly yours, A. D. Many thanks to Laurel for sending me copies of the Widow's Pension documents. Many things in the content were know but I do need some assistance from fellow Beatty researchers from the Trenton, Mercer County, NJ area. A brother, Howard Beatty, made an oath from Mercer County, Trenton, NJ to attest to his brother Benjamin's service in the War of 1812. Is anyone familiar with this brother who is alive the 27th day of July 1852? Another interesting fact was that Benjamin's wife was Margaretta Bachman, not Margaret Miller as transcribed from baptism records from St. John's Lutheran Church in Easton, PA. They had been married in the same church April 18th, 1819. Margaret also received two land warrants for 49 and 100 acres, location unknown. She claimed she resided in Easton her entire life. The sad part is that no reference is given to location of his birth, the marriage record was used as certified proof plus the depositions to claim her widow's pension. I find this information fascinating...right next to my originals of great-grandparents immigration records. Jayne L366

Martha Banks Beattie, born 10 Nov 1862, dau of John and Ann Beattie, was baptized in the Parish Church of St. Peter in Liverpool, Lancaster [Lancashire] England 24 Nov 1862. John Beattie's vocation is shown as "Omnibus Conductor." Banks could very well be the surname of either the mother or a grandmother. This was taken from Vol. 53 of Baptisms for 1862 - 1863. The CD I am extracting records from is number I02087, image 134, I believe the film number for this is the same or similar. Dave Leavenworth Lineage 179
