Seeing the question on who might be related to Lineage 196 and that their email address given was incorrect, I looked up to see if my email address had been corrected and it has not. My email address has changed from tara13@gateway.net to 'rikkitikki@aol.com". I am of lineage 1021 and here is a small summary of my family: Margaret Elizabeth "Lizzie" Beaty who married Charles Augustus Shuman in Mecklenburg County, NC and to this union 12 children where born. James Earnest (died at 18 months) Flora Marie "Minnie" Shuman (married a Bowen) Jim Bow Shuman Labe Shuman Katherine Shuman (Married a Helms) Annie Mae Shuman (married a Trull) John Isaac Shuman Archie Albert Shuman Mary Jane Shuman (Married a Helms) Loma Lee Shuman (Married a Griffin) Gertrude Alberta Shuman Lee Washington Shuman These are not in the order of birth but does list all the children. Also, if Mike of someone would correct the error that Minnie Bowen did not have eleven children as I have not sent this information in as yet and that Lee Shuman was not of the third generation but the second as indicated above and I, Judi Shuman should be listed as generation #3 not as #4. If any new members out there are related, please contact me. It is believed that Lizzie's parents were Henry Lee Beaty (father William C. Beaty of Charlotte, NC) and Margaret Smith Beaty of Mecklenbury County, NC. Many thanks and HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE! I was able to find the file of the last pension payment at the National Archives. Unfortunately it doesn't clear things up much but here it is: Fayette County, SS, BE IT KNOWN, That before me, a justice of the peace, in the county aforesaid, personally appeared John Beatty and made oath, that he is the identical person named in an original certificate in his possession, of which the following is a copy: War Department, Invalid Pension I certify, that in conformity with the Law of the United States of the 24 April 1816 Jno Beatty late a private of Captain Walkings company in the 2nd Regiment Ten. I for one would like to thank you Laurel Baty, that is a very nice gift to offer someone. I personally have found the test very easy. So I have just ordered my own 25 marker upgraded to 37 markers. I think it would be great if at least one or more of each line was to have a test done. I for quite sometime had a fear of the test. Then decided who in the world would ever want to clone a gumpy old man. (smile) I have been looking thru the records of Iceland and find that there is a great possiblity that my common ancester could will have been in many of the stories they have recorded. Thank all of you that have submitted to the project. Bill R. Beaty L-247
