    2. Laurel, why don't you just let some of us help you pay if it is going to end up on BP-2000 where we will all have access. I know I would like to have the data on BP-2000 where I could look on down the line if and when I find some connection to my lines. At present I would not start to know which copies to order. 3. Laurel, It is not hard to confuse me, but if we order the CD, why do we need the printed copies? Can we not print from the CD? Or is it not as good a quality as the printed version? I am still prepared to donate my share of what ever it takes to get a CD for the BP 2000 to post on our site, then I do not have to store another CD. Also one person does not have to foot the bill entirely. 3. Laurel, possibly, some people are thinking the way I was thinking when I volunteered to help pay for this project. I "Haven't a clue" as to which applications to order, because I have no proof as to which "James" or "John" or any Beatty/Beaty might be "Mine, " therefore, I would not know what to order. My thinking was that if we appcomplished this project and got it rolling, then we could all study them, either on a CD or on the BP2000, and possibly, identify some of our Beatty ancestors. 3. I seem to be confusing everyone! The initial figure that I listed of $30.00 was just hypothetical based on a crude guess of the # of the pages on the Rev War microfilm roll. Please do not feel you need to contribute $30.00. If you only want a CD just buy that. I think if you buy the CD you can still request 1 or 2 printed applications at the $1.50 price but I am checking on that. I have actually requested that SK Publications go ahead with the project and have stated that I will pay for the whole thing if no one else contributes. I really would like a copy of all of the pensions so I have requested the CD and the Printed version. I hate reading microfilm and I would like a chance to truly study the applications. If anyone else would like to have a CD please feel free to order one but if you just want to look at the images on BP2000 that's okay too. Laurel

    3. Laurel, In every project such as this, there is always one participant so thick-headed that they just can't seem to understand. For this project, I guess that person is me. :) I agreed to contribute $30.00 to the project. You needed 10 such participants to reach the $300.00 minimum. I don't know how many other contributors you have heard from. I've looked at the websites and all your instructions, and I'm trying to figure out how I get my $30 contribution made. Should I order the CD (s) for $10.00 PLUS order 14 printed pension applications for a total of $31.00? It looks like I really only need 3 printed pension applications, but that doesn't even get me to the $20 minimum. That brings up another question. Does the $20 minimum apply just to the printed pension applications or does it include the CD? In other words, is the minimum met by buying the CD plus 7 printed copies at $1.50 each ($10.50) for a total of $20.50? Sorry to be a bother. Inquiring minds want to know. Les Beaty

    3. I heard from John of SK Publications this morning and so far he has only received one order besides mine and that was for a single printng of 1 pension ($1.50). This is kind of a new venture for him and he decided the $1.50 price was not going to work. So here are the new rules: CD containing all the pensions -- $10.00 printed copy -- $1.50 per pension, but minimum order of $20.00 (that would allow the customer to select as many as 13 pensions without going over $20.00) with maximum order of $45.00 (all 32 pensions) Customer can select either CD or print or both. 2. Laurel Baty
    3. There seems to be a little confusion about the Rev War application CD and I thought I would try to clarify things. Please do not feel pressured to this and only do this if it will be useful to you. 1) For a minimum order of $300.00 SK Publications will scan all of the Beaty/Beatty Rev War applications contained in the National Archives Microfilm series M804, Revolutionary War pension and Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files (these are all on their own roll, a list of the applications found on the roll is available on the SK Publications web page). 2) BP2000 will be given images of these applications that are suitable for upload to BP2000 web page. Thus, the images will be available free to anyone who desires to see them on BP2000. 3) Each individual contributor/purchaser will also be sent either a CD or printed copies of the applications. The CD will cost $10.00 and you may order any or all of the applications in printed form at $1.50 per pension application. Once the minimum order is met SK publications will begin scanning the microfilm. They will also continue to sell the applications but I am not sure of the pricing (right now, the cost listed for an individual order is $10 per single pension application on CD and $20 per single printed application on Ledger size paper). SK Publications will send your CD and/or copies directly to you. You also pay them directly. They have a secure server for credit cards or you may send them a check. You will not be charged unless and until the minimum order is met. To order, use the SK publications order form and mention that you want the Beaty project CD, at the following link: http://www.skcensus.com/revwarpensions.html Laurel Baty, L252

    3. This is the county that my earliest-proven Beatty/Beaty was born. James Lewis Beatty IV (spelled Beaty on his marriage record). There are a lot of given names like my family on this list; Harriet, John, Anna, George, Clinton, and Lewis, but no dates are the same or close. I received a marriage record for James L. Beaty two years ago, and in the last few months I sent for it again, because it seemed more like a marriage intent. I was sent a beautiful hand-written one weeks ago, that had more information on it. The marriage intent or license was signed on 11 December 18440. James L. Beaty and Ann Maria Wilcox were married in Celina, Mercer Co., OH on 14 December 1840. Witnesses were: Hallabuud or Hallabund H. Willcox, Jenine or Jennie J. Willcox, and Jane Willcox. Just below that, James signed after this statement: "On this 14th day of Dec. 1840 come James Beaty and being sworn saith that he saw Hallabou (or Hallaboo) Wilcox sign the within and signed the same as witness." I did find an H. Henry Wilcox online but it led me nowhere.
