    3. It would be too much work to ask you. The early generation for linage 361 appears to have used the last name Betty but beginning with Joeseph he started using Bettey - I also have even later spellings with Beattie and Beatty - I will try to narrow it down in a different fashion. Thank you very much! 3. I would like to see all spellings of this index on BP2000. Currently Ancestry.com has an online index for Civil War Pensions (Union only, Confederate pensions are usually available at the State level). If anyone would like to do an index for an alternate spelling (Beaty, Beatty, Baty etc.) I will copy a pension for you at the Archives (your choice). Right now I am having trouble using Ancestry.com on my computer. I think there are 180 or so Beaty pensions, 70 Baty and I have not checked other spellings. 3. Did you know that there is a searchable database of the photos in the collection of the National Archives of Canada http://www.archives.ca/02/02011502_e.html I found well over a hundred Beattie's listed in the collection when I only searched a few of the more common variants of the name. Maybe you will find one of yours there!! Sheila I Hale 236/240

    3. Julie, Apparently, Heidelberg was a popular name in old PA. There is/was a Heidelberg in Allegheny County. Lebanon County has/had a Heidelberg was well as a Heidelberg Church/Meeting House. Berks County has/had a Heidelberg Cemetery. Lehigh County also has/had a Heidelberg Church as well as a Heidelberg School. York County also has/had a Heidelberg School. The problem with associating places with counties is that the counties became parts of other counties as the states evolved and grew. For example, my info shows a Heidelberg cemetery in a part of PA that was part of Lancaster County until 1752 when it became part of Berks County with the creation of that county. Also, there is (was) a Heidelberg Meeting House not far from there which was in a part of PA that was part of Lancaster County until 1785 when it became part of Dauphin County when that county was created. Then, in 1813, it became part of Lebanon County when that county was created. Hope this helps. Les Beaty L-20B

It appears, at first glance, that your line is not the one I'm researching. Would you please have a look at the folks below and see if any look familiar? I'd be grateful. My primary interest is Polly Keller, wife of John L. Beatty, and I'm particularly interested in finding her death certificate to (hopefully) learn her mother's maiden name. I'm preparing a Keller genealogy, so Polly's children and grandchildren will also figure in my work. My research on this line is based primarily on census records for Bell Twp. in 1900 and 1910 and Clearfield Twp. in 1920. Have you run into these people before? I'd be glad to know. Thanks in advance. Judy Kellar Fox Aloha, OR Solena "Polly" Keller, b. June 1862 to Godfrey Keller and Sophia __________ Spouse: John L. Beatty, b.
