Hi, I have recieved what was refered to as a deploma.. What an understatement. It is 20 inches by 16 inches, it has aging coloring (yellowing) but in perfect shape. It is Alexander's certificate for graduation as a Medical Doctor. It is dated 1st day of Dec 1903. Who want's a copy.. send personal address and spefify (spelling) for printing or internet use.. Do we have any ddirect descendants of Alexander?? This should go to them! Nelda ~o~o~o~o~o0o0o0o0o0o~o~o~o~o Nelda L. Daniel F Beaty is from lineage 130, New Jersey. Interesting information. He had quite a career. I don't recall ever hearing a description of him. Thanks, Pat Lemoine, Lineage 130
Thanks Pat, his description appeared to mirror my own family, except they would not be thought of as tall, definitely red hair, blue eyes. However, in those days a man of 5' 10" may have qualified as tall. How does one confirm what group you belong to? Blopeman @aol.com
Does anyone have a Daniel F. Beatty that was the Mayor of Washington, N.J. and a famous Organ and Piano salesman? I saw that L-198 had a man by that name, but do not know if it is this man. My sister sent me an original January 25,1879 Harpers Weekly newspaper. It is very brittle and yellow. It is rather shattered and has masking tape around the edges. There is a great likeness of one of Daniel's organs on the page number 76. It has BEATTY on the left pedal and ORGAN on the other. It has DFB two times on the board under the keys and Daniel F. Beatty Washington, New Jersey USA above the keys. His name and initials are in a couple of other places. It is a very ornate looking instrument. I googled him and found that he was a very interesting person of great persuasion, tall, heavy, bald, with a red a beard that was parted in the middle and had blue grey eyes. He was one of the most prolific advertisers of his day. He had his name on anything with a flat surface that could be observed by the public. He even painted boulders with his advertisement on them. HI Blopeman, First you send us some data on your family ad some of the members try to see if you connect to paticular lines.. If your lineage has not been assigned a number then you ask to have a number assigned. You will need to send a Gedcom to mike Allen.. I have a question.. Have you gone through the lineages at the BP2000 website? The links too the BP2000 website and the Beatty Y-DNA project is at the bottom of each email.(A tag line) Hope that helps Nelda Mailing List Admin. ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ Nelda L. I'd also like to know if anyone has an electronic copy of William T Beatty journal in word (journal is on webite) that they could send me, as my computer crashed and I couldn't retrieve. Nelda, Yes to your offer to L-05 ers. I would like to add it to my Beatty file. Also, back in 2007 we exchanged some L-05 information and I noticed recently that I did not fill you in on my line from Mary Brereton Beatty (daughter of James Beatty 1746-1794) to the present. Please suggest how you want me to send it to you. Helen MacKain
Help: I have been trying to get some military records added for over a year now and I havent gotten any response from the listed email address. Also a few of the links bring up incorrect pages in the Military section (especially in the Union Soldier pages). Who else takes care of those pages? There was a very long article in the Los Angeles Times about 10 years ago about a Beatty and the Underground Railroad. It may have been in Ohio. I remember mentioning it on line and no one knew anything about that lineage. I will try to see if I still might have that article in my files.
