    3. With respect to the migration of Boyntons into upstate NY, all that I am able to add is that Salmon Boynton, (b. 5/26/1797), son of Nathan Boynton (b. 1772) and Lydia Parker (d. 7/12/1837), who was in turn the son of Nathan Boynton and Lucy Smith of (I believe) Rowley, Mass., is buried in Canton, St. Lawrence, NY, as is his son, Edgar Smith Boynton (2/23/1879? to 9/25/1909?). Nathan Boynton's birth is listed in the LDS records as having taken place in Boston, so perhaps this branch of the Boynton clan left for NY a bit later than your branch did. I also do know of a Boynton (first name currently escapes me, apologies) who was the pastor of a church in Mohawk, NY, which is in Herkimer County, but have not traced him back to the Rowley Boyntons. Please keep us posted on your search for NY Boyntons, as I am also keenly interested about this migratory trend. Sincerely, -- Patricia M.
