    3. It's almost certain that our first Boynton immigrants (John and William) sailed to Boston with the Rev. Ezekiel Rogers from Hull, but I don't think anyone knows the name of the ship (or ships). Rogers arrived probably in 1638. By sailing out of Hull instead of London, they narrowly escaped the interediction ordered by James I, which did however prevent Sir Matthew Boynton and Sir Oliver Cromwell from coming to the Colonies. They were already onboard when the king's men ordered them ashore.
