    3. Hi, The list has been quiet for awhile (unless I'm still not getting messages from the list) -- I guess everyone is busy with the holiday season, etc. Me, too, but I thought I'd try to start a discussion before launching into another week of travel & work. Ephraim Boynton, great-grandson of Rowley, MA immigrant John Boynton, left Rowley with his family and relocated in a village called Sterling, near Worcester, MA. According to DeLorme's Street Atlas USA CD-ROM, there are several street names that are very familiar to Rowley researchers: Jewett Rd., Rowley Hill Rd., Gates Rd. To me this suggests that Ephraim Boynton was not the only Rowley export to the western frontier (as it was in those days). Does anyone know more about this exodus from Rowley in the generation before the American Revolution? Were there other Boyntons among the westering group? What about their neighbors & cousins, the Jewetts, and others? By the way, Ephraim's son, Amos, who fought in the Revolution, was born in Rowley but married "out west" to Sarah Snow, and they were later found in Fitzwilliam, NH before moving south to Georgia, possibly to claim veteran's bounty land there. The Boynton genealogy book says Sarah Snow's father's name was Jonathan, but nothing more is presently known about her family.
