    3. Dear Michel, Thank you for writing about your quest. I don't have any information on this person, but perhaps someone else on the BOYNTON email list does. I will forward the message to that list and ask anyone who does to respond to you directly. As for where to look for information in the US, probably the easiest would be in the US Census, which is taken every 10 years, but it is organized by town or county in each state so you would need to know where he lived. However, there are indexes available on CD-ROMs and on some websites that might help. Allegany is close to Pittsburg, so that does help narrow your search to that part of western Pennsylvania at least. You might also look in some of the websites that have name searches available, such as http://www.ancestry.com or http://www.rootsweb.com There is a genealogy of the Boynton family, but I have just moved and my genealogy books are still packed in boxes, otherwise I'd look in there for you. Perhaps someone else on the list can take a moment to look for him and let you know if he's listed.
