Thank you VERY much. My first reaction was, WOW, here we go! But I am of the cautious and suspicious breed, when it comes to genealogy, so I took a closer look, and came up with the following comments: ---------- Edmund Tarbell you have b. 17 Jun 1767 I have b. ca 1767, unknown place you have d. Nov 1854 I have d. 11 Sep 1843, prob. Mt. Holly, VT Comment: I believe there were more than one Edmund/Edmond Tarbells in Vermont during this period of time, from census indexes. I'll have to recheck that. you have Betty (Elizabeth) (Boynton) Tarbell I have Polly (Boynton) Tarbell you have b. 29 Aug 1761 I have b. ca 1773, unknown place you have d. 10 Mar 1808, VT I have d. 10 Mar 1808, prob. Mt. Holly, VT Comment: I have not seen "Polly" used as a form of Elizabeth; usually it is a form of "Mary." The name "Polly" is well-documented for my Edmond Tarbell's wife; also for their first child. None of their children is named with a form of "Elizabeth." ---------- My tentative conclusion, unfortunately, is that the 10 Mar 1808 death date has been applied to the wrong person. The 1767 birth date for Edmond has also been misapplied, or it is a simple coincidence. Otherwise, we are dealing with two different marriages for four separate people. Please accept my thanks for forwarding what you have. The search continues! Darrell Darrell A. Martin formerly of Springfield, Vermont currently in exile in Addison, Illinois darrellm@sprynet.com
