James Boyle (c. 1833), coal miner, married Sarah Welch (c. 1840), both reported to be Irish, but may have been married in Lanark, Scotland, c. 1858 or in Ireland. They had 8 living children (birth date and place): John (1862, Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland), James F. (1864, Shotts, Lanark, Scotland), Sarah (1866, Dalziel, Lanark, Scotland), Catherine Ann (1868, Cambusnethen, Lanark, Scotland), Mary (1870, Cambusnethen, Lanark, Scotland), Ellia (c. 1873, Upper Tyrone Township, Fayette County, PA), Elizabeth (c. 1875, Upper Tyrone Township), Patrick (c. 1877, Upper Tyrone Township). Son James F. married Martha O'Neill (or O'Neall), (1869, PA), in 1888. Their children were: John (1889, Upper Tyrone Township), Charles (1891, same), Edward (1893, same), Mary (1895, same), Alice K. (1898, same), Joseph (1900, same). After this, James F. shows up in 1903 as a hotel/saloon keeper in Braddock PA, Hotel Boyle, 1115-1117 Bradddock Avenue. I do not know at this time whether there were other children. Son John was a brakeman on the Union RR, died in plant accident in 1940; son Charles J. was a brakeman in 1913; son Edward was a machinist in 1913. I understand that Joseph died in the late 1950s in West Newton, Westmorland county, PA. Do any of these people look like they might fit into your tree? Regards, Tim Boyle
