Cornelius BOYLES b 27 Aug 1768 (county unknown) IRE; mar Nancy BUXTON 27 Aug 1795 in Cross Creek PA USA; d 16 Aug 1821 in Washington Co, PA. His parents may have been named Thomas and Mary (that's a lot of help isn't it?) Cornelius and Nancy had a son, Aaron b 20 Jan 1814; one of his sons was Alexander b 4 Sep 1845 in Cross Creek PA. Family rumor states that after Cornelius' death, Nancy dropped the "Y" (or "W" whichever it was) , Americanizing the name to BOLES. Aaron mar Elizabeth MURCHLAND and in her handwriting in her family bible she spelled it BOYLES when documenting death of Cornelius. I have lots of info to share and am always seeking more!!
