This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --part0_911687761_boundary Content-ID: <[email protected]_out.mail.aol.com.1> Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII This is the same information I sent to The O'Donnell List as I have only 2 Boyle names to go on, my great grandmother Ann Boyle and her father Neal. Any help on the Boyle family would be greatly appreciated. I do not know if any of Ann's family came to the US or not. We end right there in Donegal with that part of the family. Thanks for starting the list. I am sure we will all learn from it. I will try to give a little history on my O'Donnell Family. As far back as I can go, we come from County Donegal. A short biography was written for a county history book for Yellowstone Country, Montana in 1907, about my Grandfather Ed O'Donnell. He provided all the information about his life in Ireland before coming to Montana in 1884. His grandparents were Louis and Mary O'Donnell. His parents were John O'Donnell and Ann Boyle, daughter of Neal Boyle and Miss Sharkey. He listed her as Miss Sharkey so he must not have remembered his grandmother's first name. He told of going to school in County Donegal and working on his parents farm. His birth place was listed and Dungloe of Tubberkeen. He was born April 5 1855. We know he had a sister Bridget born about 1859. She was married in the Catholic Church in Dungloe, Tubberkeen on Feb 16, 1882 to John O'Donnell son of Daniel. They had 8 children, Mary, Annie, Condy,Edward, Cassie, Bridget, Lizzie and Daniel. Some of these children came to the US. They were brought over by my Grandfather Ed. Some stayed in Ireland, and we still have Lizzie Kelly's family living there now. Bridget's daughter Mary had a daughter, Minnie born 16 Dec. 1911. We have a copy of the birth certificate and it does not list a father. Mary came to the US in about 1912 and Minnie was raised by her aunt Cassie, in Dungloe. Minnie married a John O'Donnell. He was deceased at the time of her death in 1977. Her address is listed on her death certificate as Quay Rd. Dungloe Rd. We think Ed had another sister Mary, born about 1867. There may have been other brothers and sisters. We are searching for those now. Ed became a prosperous rancher and farmer in Billings Montana. He met and married Mary Loftus, daughter of Patrick Loftus and Bridget ( Delia ) Sullivan in May of 1891. Mary Loftus was born in Bellmullet, County Mayo and came to Montana with her family in 1883. Please note that Montana did not become a state until 1889. They were some of the first pioneers and have pioneer status in the State on Montana. My grandfather also operated the city cemetery also known as O'Donnell Cemetery, now Mountview Cemetery Ed and Mary O'Donnell had 17 children. My father is the 17th. Ed died in April of 1916. Some of our family has been to Ireland and we do know we still have some family living there. It is my hope to visit there in a few years. I am anxious to learn more about the family that stayed in Ireland. Thanks for letting me tell my story. Patty O' Donnell Dietz, Billings Montana --part0_911687761_boundary--
