Hi! Looking for info on Jonathan BOYLE and Elizabeth HUNT. They apparently lived near the Pennsylvania/ Virginia state line in 1790. Census records say their son John BOYLE was born in 1790 in Virginia. They moved to Knox County, Ohio about 1806 and Jonathan BOYLE died in 1808 in Knox County, Ohio. I have been able to trace some of the children and slowing adding more to the family. History books tell of the settlement of Scot/Irish in the late 1600's and early 1700's as gradually coming west across Pennsylvania into Ohio, then into Indiana & Illinois. These were people who had left Scotland after loosing everything to England and going to Northern Ireland. Most of them were farmers and protestants, mostly Presbyterian. With crowded conditions they then came to America in search of land. Most of them were sturdy, hard working people. Thus they were originally from Scotland. This sounds like how my BOYLE's came to America. They were farmers and connected with the Methodist or Presbyterian Church. History books also tell of the early settlers (including BOYLE & HUNT) coming from Greene and Washington Counties in Pennsylvania. I am interested in info as to who Jonathan BOYLE's and Elizabeth HUNT's parents were, where Jonathan & Elizabeth lived, when & where they were married, and someone who is researching this family.
