Does anyone know anything about this Boyle. I found him listed on the 1870 US census for West Ward Hazleton township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania and his family contains a young lad who may be my great grandfather. Here's his listing: Boyle, Cornelius, 40, m, w, hotelkeeper, b. Ireland --Mary, 40, f, w, wife, b.Ireland --Phillip, 18, m, w, laborer, b. Pennsylvania --Mary M., 16, f, w, at home, b. Pennsylvania --William, 14, m, w, at home, b. Pennsylvania (right age, name and place for my 2g grandfather) --Hugh, 10, m, w, at home, b. Pennsylvania --Charles, 8, m, w, at home, b. Pennsylvania --Cessetia (?), 6, f, m, at home, b. Pennsylvania --Michael, 4, m, w, at home, b. Pennsylvania Living next door to this Cornelius Boyle is a Manus Boyle, who I can only hope is his brother. Luzerne county suffered a flood, so most early documents are gone. I do not find Cornelius on the 1880 census; nor do I find his wife. On the 1873 map of Hazleton, property on Wyoming street across from the church is owned by a Mrs. Boyle. In 1880, my great grandfather's family is on that same or nearby property across from the church. They live there until 1900-1902. On the 1900 census I find that Manus Boyle lives on Wyoming street. I have hopes that Manus has never moved since the 1870 census.........(hope springs eternal). Does anyone know anything about this family? This has been my brick wall for years. Pam
