In my drive through the censuses to finally discover the parentage of my great grandparents, I have come up with another set of candidates. I found this family in the 1860 and 1870 census in what is now Hazleton, Luzerne, PA. Hazleton is where my great grandfather got married and lived for about 20ish years. John Boyle, b. abt 1815, Ireland, tailor and merchant tailor --Mary, b. abt. 1817-1820, Ireland, wife --Catherine, b. abt. 1841, PA --Elizabeth, b. abt. 1845, PA --Alice, b. abt. 1846, PA --John, b. abt. 1848, PA --George, b. abt 1850, PA --Richard, b. abt 1852/1850, PA --William, b. abt. 1854/1852, PA (this might be my great grandfather) --Mary, b. abt. 1857/1855 --Mary A., b. abt. 1852 (doesn't show up in the 1860 census, so may not be daughter) A John Christy is shown in 1860 to be a single man, also a tailor, living with this family; and in 1870, he and his family live next door. In 1897 two of John Christy's children are godparents to Gertrude Boyle, my grandfather's sister. They are both unmarried at the time and still living with their widowed father. Anybody know either family? Pam
