Peter Doty , according to Doty-Doten Family in America,( Ethan Allen Doty, 1897, Brooklyn NY)wa s/o Issac Doty and ... Reyno, proably born Middlesex Co., NJ about 1750-1758; m. Basking Ridge NJ April 19, 1786 by Rev. Samuel Canody, to Susannah Magdalen Boyle b. Somerset Co. NJ, daughter of John Boyle. He died Knox Co. OH March 18, 1848. She died Sparta OH Jan. 26 1846. According to this book he was dissatisfied with his father's second married and did not like his stepmother and left home. Rev. War, he was a private in Captain John Platt's Company, First Battalion, Second establishment, NJ Continental Line; also a wagon master. Lived Basking Ridge NJ and Morris Co. NJ; removed probably first to Schoharie Co. NY and about 1799 to Knox Co. OH near Mount Vernon. 8 children - John; Joanna; Frazy; Ephraim; Marth! a; Peter; Susannah; Nancy. Isaac s/o John Doty. I belong to the Pilgrim Edward Doty Society, Edward Doty having been a passenger on the Mayflower and a signer of the Mayflower Compact. Isaac and John Doty were brothers, children of Samuel and Jane Harman Doty, and from there on back to Edward our lines are the same. Sasha
