    3. Hi Pamela, Do you by any chance know the parents of your Charles Boyle? I have a Charles Boyle who could be his father, only because of his dob. My Charles was married to a Helen Gallocher and when I first find them it is in the 1851 Census of the Parish of Campsie, Stirlingshire Scotland. They have three children Ann born about 1833, Mary about 1836 and James my ggrandfather 1841. What if the first child had been a boy and now aged about twenty one decided to go to another country. All speculation I know but wouldn't it be great to be able to join them up. Hearsay places my Boyle's in the Glenties area of Donegal. 3. Speaking of long shots and speculation Beth, I am at a standstill with tracing my side of the Boyle family. I wondered if your 'James' fitted into my family tree in any way: --------------------------- James Boyle — Elizabeth O'Brien M — Children: Sara (moved to NZ & changed first name to Margaret), James (Caterer in factory in US or Canada), Hugh (Killed in WW1, day before leave), Daniel (my grandfather - see below). ....Daniel Boyle b18.12.1876 Rothsay, Scotland d1.8.1960, Sydney Australia — Mary Brigette 'Brigee' Kelly b8.5.1888 Scotland d28.3.1950 Sydney Australia - M1905 in Scotland --------------------------- Regards Marilyn

    3. Marilyn, Your grandfathers brother Hugh - does it say anything in his military record about where his father came from? My problem is I have only been able to trace one sibling for my Charles and that is a sister Margaret who also married a Gallocher (first name unknown as he is not on the scene in the 1851 Census) so I have no way of tracing Charles' parents which might have led me to other siblings.
