Our family also believes they have a connection to these individuals. According to our elder aunts, Bridget was the sister of Catherine Boyle who married Dennis McLaughlin in Phila in 1873. Her marriage was witnessed by Margaret Boyle (or Margaritte as the church ledgers show). Is there a possibility of any connection? Donna

    1. [Boyle] ADMIN MSG - SoBig virus/worm
    2. Pat Connors
    3. This is on the front page of the NY Times today: "As a computer virus named SoBigF swamped email inboxes, wreaking havoc on individual PC's and corporate computer systems, computer security experts around the world spent a tense day trying to stop a more potentially serious electronic time bomb from going off: SoBig carries an attachment that, if opened, instructs the infected computer to communicate with 20 host PC's that, most likely unknown to their owners, were planted with a mystery program. But the experts did not know what would then happen to the infected machines, or what instructions they would be given....." The article goes on to say they identified 17 of the computers and Norton says the other three just direct people to a porn website. I know some of you out there are infected with this virus/worm because I am still getting infected mail...with various list names and even getting some with my own email address. So, they are coming from people who belong to some of the lists I manage or post to and you have the lists' addresses and my address in your address book. Some address books, by default, collect all emails addressed from each and every email that is sent....so maybe it would be good if you look in your mail programs utilities and change that feature so only addresses you wanted added to the book go into it. I suggest everyone who receives this email, immediate scan their computer for viruses and/or worms. If you can't afford to buy and subscribe to an updated program, there are free services on line. If you want to take advantage of the wonderful benefits of genealogy mailing lists, then take the responsibility that goes along with them and get virus protection. If you got this virus it is for one main reason...you opened an attachment. Well, you were lucky this time around...the next time it might get all your banking info and credit card info and then you will be in a financial mess. Or it might disable your computer for good. So remember..don't open attachments you don't know anything about, even they came to you from you best friend or relative and GET virus protection. If you need help, don't hesitate to email me off list. I will be in PA for the next two weeks and on my laptop fairly regular now that all the sightseeing is done for a while and I don't have to pay for each minute on line. -- Pat Connors, visiting Glen Mills PA, listowner Professional Genealogy Researcher http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free. 1. [Boyle] Harrisburg PA ? Boyle m. Bridget Mulgrew Campbell-seeking any information
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Ewing, Workinger, Kauffman, Pyle, Ewell, Campbell, Gibbons,Hershey Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/nVF.2ACIB/843 Message Board Post: Hi! I am looking for a Boyle 1st name unknown who married a Bridget Mulgrew Campbell sometime after 1846 and lived in possibly, Harrisburg, PA. I know of 2 children born of this marriage: Elizabeth and George. Elizabeth never married and spent her life working at St.Patrick's Catholic Church as a secretary. I have a picture of George and it is impossible to guess his age as he has a real baby face. Bridget died in 1872 so, I think unknown Boyle may have remarried and George would be from that 2nd marriage(not Bridget's son). The picture was taken in the early 1900's and it is hard to imagine that George would have been at least 27 in the portrait. I would appreciate any help that you can offer. Thanks! Nikki

    1. RE: [Boyle] Richard (Dick) Boyle
    2. The Reid Family
    3. Richard (known as Dick) Boyle was born in England, probably in North or South Shields, Newcastle on Tyne, Northumberland in the 1910-20's. His father was James Gilbert Boyle, and mother was Annie Varney. James Gilbert was a salmon fisherman. He had several brothers and sisters including: John Thomas b.1907 (known as Jack) James Gilbert George Catherine (known as Kitty) Nancy --------------------------------------------- The brothers John and James migrated to Australia under a youth migration scheme in the 1920's. John was my father. George was in the British Navy. Nancy was the matron of a hospital, possibly Leeds Infirmary, ----------------------------------------- I met Uncle Dick in 1981, in North Shields. I think that he had 2 sons, and at least one of them had migrated to Canada. They would be in their 50's now, I think. Ellen Reid (nee Boyle) Melbourne, Australia

    3. This morning I received 871 emails, of that number, 726 had the following subjects: Wicked screensaver, Thank you, That Movie, Your application, Your details, My details, Details, Approved. These were sent by an infected computer with the Sobig, mass mailing worm. Please read: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sobig.f@mm.html Again, you MUST use anti virus software for your computer. You can use free or paid virus protection. If you are new to computers, here is Rootsweb's tutorial on viruses/worms: http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/virus.html In the meantime, don't open mail with attachments. Send them to trash immediately and then empty you trash bin. You can set you filters to the above subjects and they will automatically go to trash. Well, I am off for the day to take my grandson sightseeing and then tonight to a Broadway play, hopefully when I get back I won't have another 900 emails... -- Pat Connors, visiting New York City, listowner Professional Genealogy Researcher http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free. Did your Boyle relative have sisters also? We have photos of some Boyle sisters of his taken right after he died. Pat and Ellen Boyle were some connection, but I don't know how. I'll have to go back to specific towns. Some studio photos were taken in Streator, Ill., also Chicago. I spoke incorrectly before, records show my John lived in Rhode Island early on. He married Julia Ryan before 1850. They moved around! They lived in Illinois, Minneapolis and other MN. towns, in 1885 they were in Huron, SD. I believe this is where they lived when John was killed in a RR accident--between 1885 & 1892. Julia remarried to John Hishen in 1892, in Huron--St. Martin's Catholic church. Kathy

    3. That Boyle, Sloan thing got my attention. It may not be a help...just a fascinating coincidence that my grandmother (Josephine, maiden name Tompkins from Kellogg, IA) married a Boyle and that her mother's maiden name was Sloan (Dorothy, married name Tompkins)...and they both died in Kansas City, in 1980 and 1954 respectively. How are things in KC? I celebrated my 50th at the Rockhurst homecoming game last October.
