Hi Nancy, don't get discouraged. While my John BOYLE b 1798 came from Ireland, he was a Welseyan Methodist. He settled in the Niagara Falls area of Canada. When you get your BOYLEs back to the old country, we may be connected. The list is new, and the more we post, the more we will get to know our roots. Happy hunting. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pat (Patraigin) Connors, California Siochain Leat (peace be with you) Researching: Connors/O'Connor, McEntee, Campbell, Flynn/O'Flynn, Smith, Phillips, Carter, Boyle, O'Rourke, Healey, Cullinan, Hoare, Todd, Owen, Booth http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/c/o/n/Pat-Connors/ mailto:[email protected] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Happy Saturday to everyone on the brand new BOYLE list! In less than one week, we have almost 50 subscribers--36 on the L list and another 10 on the D list. This would be a great time for all of us to post out BOYLE connections. I think we should start a tradition, every 25 new members, we do a roll call. I am open to suggestions on how we can make this an interactive list where we can all help each other out in our genealogy research. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pat (Patraigin) Connors, California Siochain Leat (peace be with you) Researching: Connors/O'Connor, McEntee, Campbell, Flynn/O'Flynn, Smith, Phillips, Carter, Boyle, O'Rourke, Healey, Cullinan, Hoare, Todd, Owen, Booth http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/c/o/n/Pat-Connors/ mailto:[email protected] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi Margaret, I did a search for BOYLE in county Donegal and this is what I came up with: Index to Griffith's Valuation of Ireland, 1848-1864 Boyle, ??? County : Donegal Parish : Conwal Location : Rareagh The valuation was completed in Donegal in 1857 so maybe your relatives had all left the area by then. If anyone on the list would like me to do a Griffith's search, I would be happy to do it. However, I usually do in on the weekends when I have the time. Also, I have "Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1538-1940" where I can also do lookups. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pat (Patraigin) Connors, California Siochain Leat (peace be with you) Researching: Connors/O'Connor, McEntee, Campbell, Flynn/O'Flynn, Smith, Phillips, Carter, Boyle, O'Rourke, Healey, Cullinan, Hoare, Todd, Owen, Booth http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/c/o/n/Pat-Connors/ mailto:[email protected] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
hi all I am researching my BOYLE ancestors , My great grandfather was William BOYLE. He married a Catherine gaffney. I believe at this time they were married in Rochester, NY. sometime in late 1890s. I do know that in 1899 they were living in Buffalo, NY. When William pass away in 1944, according the Holy Cross Cemetery records it said that William was born in Clyde, NY. At the time of death William was 73 years old. I recent found out by looking thru the 1880 federal census from Clyde, NY, that William may be the son of Patrick BOYLE. I am looking for anyone else you is researching the BOYLE from CLyde, NY area. Michael P. Morrissey
Researching a Margaret Boyle, supposedly from Glenties, Donegal, Ireland . She was to have arrived in New York and walked to Summit Hill, Carbon County, PA USA (date unknown). She married +James O'Donnell in December 1851 - children: John -1853; Mary - 1855; Sarah - 1857; +James - 1859; Maggie - 1861. Did she come from Donegal? Did she travel with other family members? (Mary Boyle was her witness at the marriage ceremony at St. Joseph RC Church, Summit Hill, PA). When did she arrive in the USA? Parents names? How to find out where to write for baptismal information. Any help gratefully appreciated. God bless, Diann O'Donnell

Hi List Allow me to introduce myself, My name is Dave Rossiter from Northampton in the U.K. and I'm researching my wife's family - the BOYLEs We know very little about this family, partly due to family disagreement in recent generations. However we know a little. James (Jimmy) Boyle married Mary Hogan around 1920 and had at least two children, Robin (my wife's father) and Michael. James apparently served with the RFC / RAF toward the end of WW 1. As far as we know both James & Mary came from Clonmel in Tipperary, Ireland, and rumour has it that one of Mary's brothers may have been involved in the 'Troubles'. If anyone can help us with research into this line I'd be grateful for your help. The Irish townland & parish system has me baffled. All the best for now Dave Rossiter [email protected] Genealogy must be exponential ! Researching :- My Wife's family BOYLE & HOGAN ------------------------------- > EIRE POMEROY/POMERY, GRAFTON & BAKER ------------- > CORNWALL GILLINGHAM, BEAN & JARMAN ------------------- > SOMERSET

I, too, have Boyle's that settled in Thorald. Ted stated that William was probably not related to the other Boyles because they settled in Thorald in the 1800's. Couldn't he be a nephew or cousin? Donald, could you tell us when your Boyle family emigrated to Thorald and from what county they came from? Thanks. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pat (Patraigin) Connors, California Siochain Leat (peace be with you) Researching: Connors/O'Connor, McEntee, Campbell, Flynn/O'Flynn, Smith, Phillips, Carter, Boyle, O'Rourke, Healey, Cullinan, Hoare, Todd, Owen, Booth http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/c/o/n/Pat-Connors/ mailto:[email protected] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yes, this is the proper forum for O'Boyle, Boyle, Boule, Boile, etc. etc. etc. Welcome to the list.
Is this the proper forum to post the name "O'Boyle" on ? There are a lot of us out there. Regards Paul Plante
William John Boyle b.Sept 22, 1903 in Belleville, d. April 10, 1981 in Thorold Ont. He was the son of William Corbett Boyle. He worked for the Thorold Public Utilities for 37 years and retired in 1969. He was born a Presbyterian but died a Catholic. He was a member of Holy Rosary Parish in Thorold. His wife was Veronica Keating. As there are a lot of Boyles in the Thorold area, I am wondering why he moved from Belleville to Thorold. Did he have any Boyle relatives in Thorold area? William Corbett Boyle was the son of James Boyle and Eliza Corbett, James from Co. Antrim and Eliza from County Down. They met and married in Finch Tsp. near Cornwall in 1844.
Hello all As I'm new to the list I thought I'd post up the BOYLE branches I'm look into. Centred around Blackhill, Consett, Leadgate then Burnopfield and Marley Hill in DUR, UK Owen BOYLE (also called Nicholas, born about 1836), an Iron Works Labourer, and his wife Ellen (born about 1841) are in the 1881 census at Black Hill, Benfieldside - Tin Mill Street (?). This says both were born in Ireland. I haven't yet been able to get enough information to make the leap back to Ireland. They had 8 children (Pat, Nicholas, James, Owen, John J, Mary, Ellen and Elizabeth) according to the 1881 census, all of whom were born in England (most in Blackhill) The other names so far are ROBSON and WELCH on my father's side, and HINDS and CALLAGHAN on my mother's. Does this path cross the interest of any other BOYLE listers ? Cheers Philip BOYLE
I am searching for information and relations of William Boyle born c. 1800-1810 and married Sept. 15, 1837 at Kilmarnock, Ayreshire, Scotland to Janet "Jessie" Blair born 1813. There were more children but I only know of two daughters and a son. The eldest daughter, Henrietta born May 31, 1839 married John Kilpatrick in Dundonald and the family lived at Craiksland Quarry. Would like to know the children of this marriage. Agnes Reid Boyle born in 1852 married Samuel Cowan, both died in Prestwick, Ayreshire at the turn of the century. Their children emigrated to Canada. Some of the Cowan relations went to Ballarat, Victoria Co., Australia. William Boyle Jr. was born Dec. 30, 1856 and then I lose track of him. Does this fit with any other Boyle families? Yours Truly, Kathleen Donohue Logan
