HOW NICE of you to transcribe this information and think to send it on to the list members. Thanks-I'm certain someone will benefit from the information. I am researching the Boyles primarily in Oakland County, Michigan-Milford to be exact. Anyone out there researching within the same county? I received this info some time back and have been using it to obtain certificates on my family. I thought that although many have no relation to my line maybe they belong to others on the list. The info comes from the Berrien Co. records office. I have hopefully transcribed all numbers accurately. Some items are available from the Berrien Co. Hist Soc. while others must be ordered from the Berrien Co. Offices. Check out the Berrien Co. Gen. Soc. site for addresses: http://www.qtm.net/bcgensoc Here it is: NAME Cert. I was hoping that someone may be able to help me. I am searching for info on John Boyle b. abt. 1795 in PA m. Searchy (Sichia or Psychel) Cain. Does anyone have any info on these people? Thanks, Teresa
Just a short note to the members of the BOYLE list: Never give up!! I've searched for parts of my family for close to 38 years. Last week I decided to run a full check on names I've found were of my ancestors while browsing the BOYLE list on GENFORUM. Today I talked on the phone to a newly found cousin who descends from a brother of my gggfather. Tonight I believe I found another who descends from a sister of my gggfather. I will know wen I receive return e-mail from here but the names and location match too well to not be. I never knew this line existed until about 3-4 weeks ago when a kind researcher in MI began digging more for me. She sent a name of a younger sibling to my gggfather. I finally checked and emailed a couple of possibles and now I have more known members of my family. I am still searching for BOYLE in Sanford, FL the son of Lloyd Fargo and Rosa Gray BOYLE and for BOYLE in Milwaukee, WI, possible descendents of David C.S. BOYLE. Hope you all do as well as I. Bill Boyle
I recently received copies of some passenger lists for Irish immigrants. I have gleamed out all the Boyle surnames and have listed everything I found about them on these lists. Please do not ask me any questions on them because this is all the info I have. If you have questions on passenger ships, try some of those on the web that specialize in this area. The following site, Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness Movement, is just getting off the ground. It's premise is that most of us are located away from the area we are researching and others are living in areas we want to research. So, therefore, why don't we help each other out. I live in the Northwest corner of CA and have offered to go cemetery hunting here and transcribe cemetery inscriptions for those in other parts of the county/world who need the info from here. Anyhow, check out the site and see if you can help. Who knows what good karma will come back at you! I have Daniel Boyle born 1850 somewhere in Ire to William and Mary McLaughlin Boyle. Know of three siblings, William born Ire, Kate born Ire and John born Eng. Settled in Pawtucket, RI and then Attleboro, Ma. Also spent 10 yrs in Grafton, NH. (1899-1910). Daniel was a stone mason/laborer. He married Margaret Good aka Labon in 1875 Sacred Heart RC Church, Pawt. RI. Happy Hunting to all!
I'm on the trail of my greatgrandfather Michael Boyle and great-grandmother Ellen (Howe) Boyle. Both were born in County Clare, Ireland (he in 1820, she in 1833 or 1836). He emigrated to New York in 1847 (perhaps accompanied by Ellen and her mother), worked on the railroad, came to settle in Dubuque County, Iowa. They were married in 1857, moved to 160-acre farm in 1858 (this is the farm where I grew up). I believe I've tracked down all descendants of Michael and Ellen. I'm still trying to trace backwards from Michael and Ellen: I've just recently found that Ellen's brother and sister, Thomas (b.1816) and Nancy (Howe) Hagerty (b. 1818), settled in DeWitt, Clinton County, Iowa, and that there most likely were other Howe relatives from Miltown, County Clare, who also settled in the area. Records now indicate that Ellen's father was named John Howe and probably was born around 1795. Ellen's grandmother may have been also named Ellen, born in 1770, died in 1875 and is buried in DeWitt. There was a James Howe (1810-1873) and a Charles Howe (1827-1882) also buried in DeWitt; one of Charles' sons was named John Howe and moved to Chicago, had some children. Charles' daughters were Elizabeth Howe and Mary Howe, who married James Gillooly and had several children in DeWitt. There were quite a few Boyles living in the area around Miltown Malbay - I've been cataloging the Boyles listed in Kilmurry Ibrickan parish records, and you can find quite a few of them on my Web site, http://family.boyle.net ... I'm collecting information about the parish, which includes Quilty, Seafield, Tromra. Here are the only other Boyle connections I have: There was a John Boyle listed as a witness for Michael's wedding at Sinsinawa Mound, Grant County, Wisconsin. Also, there happened to be a family that arrived in Dubuque in 1855, including a Mary Corry (widowed), Michael and John Boyle in their 20s, a widow referred to as M. Boyle, with infant children Mary and John Boyle. Any information that might connect with these Boyles would be greatly appreciated, as well as any contacts with Boyles with roots in County Clare, particularly in the stretch of West Clare from, say, Quilty to Doolin. Thanks to Pat for keeping this list going strong ... Good luck to all of us in our searches! My earliest Boyle ancestor is a Robert Boyle, born, {according to a newspaper obituary in Chester Co., PA} in Gwynnedd twp., Montgomery Co., PA. He married Rebecca MacVeagh, daughter of Nathan and Rebecca (Thomas) MacVeagh, of Charlestown twp., Chester Co., PA. He does not seem to be associated with the Boyles of Coatesville in Chester Co., although it is very possible I'm wrong on that. His children were Ellen/Eleanor, (Anna?)Maria, Rebecca E., and Robert T. Boyle. Anyone know anything about him? Chris Moore [email protected]
