Mike, You have the correct Robert Boyd. Based on Ediwn's work it looks like he (or his kids) traveled south down the Shenandoah Valley to VA, NC, SC etc. You also have the correct John Boyd (wife-Nancy Urie). Agnes Jones as the second wife was a name I did not know. I'll look into that. However, you have John in the wrong place. I mentioned this before. Northumberland was not a county or liveable in 1743. It was the main residence for Indian tribes which later attacked the Cumberland/Franklin region. Not a good place to live! Nancy should also not be listed as dying in Carlisle, PA. The Indians didn't take the captive towards civilization and then kill her and the young son. They went west. Just list Nancy's homesite- Letterkenny Township, Franklin County (modern), PA. Nancy's body would have been carried back to the homesite and buried. I doubt any grave will be found. Secondly, all these "historians" are guessing at locations when they wrote these stories in the 1800's and early 1900's. I have proof. In the newspaper and PA legislature account of Nancy (Urie) Boyd's capture they detail the location. 9 miles from Shippensburg. That location is now called Roxbury, PA on your map. It is Letterkenny Township, Franklin County. It WAS Lurgan Township, Cumberland County. In fact, it sits on the county line. It's all the same. same location, same guy etc. What is different is this Robert Boyd guy. Where did he come from, and is he connected to John. It appears John and Robert are of the same age. I have also finally found the Urie family. Nancy's brothers were practically next door. They claim an origin in Aberdeen, Scotland; but can't prove emigration date or if they lived in Ulster before coming to America. I believe we are missing a big 20 year gap, in which these folks lived in Chester or Lancaster counties and moved to Cumberland when it opened up circa1730s. Mike, lastly, don't we have a bigger family for John and Nancy then Agnes?
