    3. Bill a very good idea for our Georgian cousins to contact you, so you have a GA Boyd contact list for future reference. During my last trip to the USA, I found out that "the powers to be" in Georgia after the Battle of Culloden in 1746 sent a delegation to Argyllshire and Invernessshire to encourage people to come and settle in Georgia. I assume that "most" of the Boyds that came to Georgia came from the Northern States in the 1700's, with many stoping in South Carolina before they moved into Georgia. I ASSUME that this was in the late 1800's and most likely after the War of Independence. So it will be interesting to see when Boyd family Branches say they came to Georgia. I would like to contact you off of the BOYD site. Please email me at [email protected] Boydville is just a crossroads in Stevens County. The county seat is Toccoa. If you are going up there you might want to take the opportunity to go to the Toccoa-Stevens County Public library and see if there is any history about it. Second step would be the County Clerks office. Look forward to hearing from you.
