Dear Lauren So sorry to hear of your loss sounds like he lived his life to the fullest. Our prayers are with your family at this time. In the Native Tradition we send prayers out to the creator of all thing to a fallen brother and veteran. This is not a time of sadness. It is a time to celebrate his 80 years, 1 month and 4 days on earth. October 7 1933 - November 11 2013. Veteran of the Korean War. Served in the Army and the US Air Force Reserves. We've known this was coming. His illness progressed in early August. He entered Hospice in September. The past year has been very difficult for him since yet another stroke. He never fully rebounded from it. He could not eat or drink -- and he really has always enjoyed both. Quality of life was diminished to the point he was looking forward to his end of life. I only wish that his final wishes of dying in his home in Kona, Hawaii had been able to have been fulfilled. There were things beyond control that prevented it. I am very grateful to our niece who looked after our brother and his needs for so long. She did everything possible to ensure he had the best of care and that all his wishes were met. His obituary will appear in several newspapers in the areas he lived. Services are pending. Yours Aye, Lauren ==================== House of Boyd will be present in the Clan Village at the 700th Anniversary Celebration of the Battle of Bannockburn, June 2014.
