    3. Using the site Elephind you can search newspapers all over the world. That search can lead you to the archives at a "lower level" as it did for Anna and the California Digital Archives. She used a different search criteria than I had and SHE discovered what I missed by my name search. The more we dig, the more we have info to use to dig! Mike -- there are TONS of entries for Australia. I run into them all the time when searching for my San Francisco ancestors and relatives. http://www.elephind.com Yours Aye, Lauren

    3. Thanks for the help, Lauren, still nothing. Is there anyone on the list, Charlene if you are out there maybe you can help, that lives in Harrisburg who could go to the Historical Society or somewhere that has newspaper archives that could do a look up for me to see if they can find an obit for my Great Great Grandfather. I am trying to find out if the obit states who his parents are. William Clayton Boyd March 27, 1827 May 20, 1890 Please keep in mind that you sometimes have to search up to a week of more after the death to find the obituary. There will be articles about the train accident, I all ready have them, but I am looking for the actual obituary. I would also like to find out the name of the cemetery where he is buried. Thank you a head of time for any help that you can supply, Emma May Hunter On Mon, Dec 23, 2013 at 2:47 PM, Lauren Boyd McLachlan <[email protected]>wrote: > Using the site Elephind you can search newspapers all over the world. 3. Yes we Boyd's in Australia are turn up by the boat load. I think the earliest Boyd that I know of was a female convict in about 1807, but you will find that after the Gold Rush of the early 1850's there seems to be quite a number of Boyds coming to Australia. So if you have a missing branch in this period look at Australian records for them. A decade or two ago, I looked at the phone list of Boyd in Australia, and if I recall correctly, Victoria was the State with the most Boyd families.
