While Patricia has sent this to me privately, I am replying to the whole list, as it brings up the specific issue of “ALL” of us can help someone else with information from their local library. In this case Patricia lives in California, but the information she needs is in New England. So hopefully – when the snow clears – that someone from the list, and area, can volunteer to do the necessary look up in Shelburne, Massachusetts for Patricia. So while working on your own Boyd Branch, keep an eye open for other Boyd families. When you find them and determine that they are not part of your family, do not throw away the information, but post to the list that you have found another Boyd families, with brief details on this particular Boyd family and the full reference title of the publication. This same publication could be in a library much closer to where members of the new Boyd live and members of that family may not be aware that anyone has already published something on their family. So get into the habit of helping others with their research, as they might find the piece of information that will brake down your brick wall. Thank you. Mike, I have Capt, James, born about 1660--1670, married Louisa Johanna Graham, died 1704. Their son John was born about 1704, Tyrone, Ireland, married Margaret (Ginny) Long 11 April 1731 in Boston, MA. John died about June 1789, Shelburne Falls, Franklin Co., MA. Then I have John Jr, Robert, Pliny, Robert, and Gertrude Sarah Boyd (1868 -- 1947). She was one of 3 daughters, and the only one who married. The Shelburne Public Library has a large book on the Boyd Family with multiple generations included. The day I visited it was nearly closing time, and I have not been able to get back. Naturally the librarians are less than helpful.... The distance is about 2000 miles, so that doesn't help either. Patricia
