Are there any members of this list that have their Boyd family that came from Ballyhalbert and the townland of Glastry. We know that Colonel David Boyd, of Tourgill, near Largs, Ayrshire, settled in Greyabbey Parish in 1606 and that one of his grandsons settled later in the 1600’s Glastry. Hear I am assuming this grandson was the Lessee of Glastry and that some younger branches of his family moved into Ballyhalbert to be “merchants/tradesmen” as various daughters and granddaughters married into “wealth” We know that the Boyd families of New Windsor, NY come from Ballyhalbert, but have not yet found the link to David Boyd of Glastry. So if you have Boyd family in either place, I would like to hear form you please, so we can see if your family may contain the missing pieces. Thank you Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS
