It would be interesting to see how far back his line can be traced. Also, I just remembered( I'm at work & don't have my pedigree charts handy) John Boyd was given a tract of 1000 acres by Lord Baltimore, He named it "Ample (or "Ampthill) Grange". It was in the area of Bowie/ Crofton, MD. I've seen the plat surveys of it at the MD Archives. It overlapped the PG - AA Co. lines. List it has just come to me. Could John Boyd have come from or near Amphill, which is a few miles south of Bedford, Bedfordshire, as he called his second property in Maryland - Amphill, Grange? Would this be a possible led where this John Boyd might have been born or came from in England before coming to the USA n 1670? Any suggestions?
