During my visit to Philadelphia, I found the book American Ancestry: giving the names and descent in the male line of Americans whose Ancestors settled in the United States previous to the Declaration of Independence, A. D. 1776. Of these three Volumes, only Volume VI, had entry for the James Boyd of Maine who came in 1756 and John Boyd of Kinderbook, NY, who married Christina Van Deusen. I can’t find my notes to see if they had the first 3 Volumes or what Volumes came after this. But from my memory there would be 100’s of Boyd families who were in America before 1776. So a lot more Boyd families should be included in these Volumes? Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS
