I have copied a sheet of paper on the family of William Boyd (b 1731 and who may have died in 1821 or 1832. He married Sarah Johnson in 1757. The sheet said that he died in Waterford, PA. This form the source “Revolutionary Soldiers of Erie County, p 12” would suggest that Waterford is in Erie County, PA. It also mentions that “William Boyd probably lived in Paxtang and Northumberland county.” “Paxtang” PA, also seems to have had quite a number of Boyd families. I have just gone to my PA map but can’t find it listed. I think that it is in the old Lancaster County area, so can someone tell me where it is today please. In an Email from Kevin Marie Kraaz to the Boyd net list on 30 July 2001 we have this message about this family which appears to have settled in Cecil County, Maryland (which is on the MD/PA border in NE Maryland.) Her Email in 2001 was <[email protected]> but I have just tried that Email and it has bounced. Kevin are you still on this list? If this statement that William Boyd was born in Cecil County, Maryland and not Ireland, it will open a possible link to the Boyds of Herring Bay who came to MD in 1670.
