Amongst the papers I found in Historical Society of PA, I had copied was a Letter from the Missouri Society DAR, from Edith Dunlap who appears to be the wife of Mr William Preston Dunlap, as partof the letter head says Mrs William Preston Dunlap, State Treasurer, 1508 North Pine Street, Rolla, MO. There is no date on this letter but I suspect it was quite some time ago as there is reference to “a balance due of $ 3 and sending $ 5. So I would assume that this was before World War II. Can any of our DAR members on this list look up when Mrs Dunlap was State Treasurer in Missouri. The State Regent on the letter head, Mrs Walter Eugene Tarlton. In the later it mentions that Samuel Boyd “a Quaker immigrant” and came to America in about 1736. There is mention of Drumore Township, PA and Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, PA There is also mention of John Boyd, who had married in 1752, Agnes Cooper dau of John and Alice (nee Gill) Cooper of Baltimore, MD, and they had amongst other children, a son called Cooper Boyd who in 1799 inherited land in Harford County Maryland. I am assuming that Mrs Dunlap of Missouri is a descendant of Cooper Boyd Thank you \ Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS
