Maria and others In the 1830's period, it seems that a number of Boyd went to Ontario, Canada. I am not sure if this was to join other family or it Ontario was then offering land. Some of these families "seem" to have stayed a decade or more in Ontario and then moved "west" into Michigan, USA or further west into USA States. I do not know enough about researching in Canada to help find these families. So hear are some basic questions:- 1) In Canada are the Census every 10 years like the USA or every 5 years like hear in Australia? Or in the 1800's were the Census for Ontario every 10 years? 2) What shipping or passenger list are available for Canada in the 1800's? 3) Are there any "tax" lists available for Counties, within Ontario during the 1800's or for the Province/Colony? 4) Are there any Post Office Directories available in this period for Ontario? 5) Are there any County histories for areas within Ontario that people might find their family outlined or arrival recorded? 6) Any other records that people might be able to view for Ontario, so they can find their family? Hopefully, some of our Canadian cousins can answer some of these questions Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS -----Original Message----- From: Maria Mahala Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2014 1:04 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [BOYD] Detroit, MI Boyds Steve, Does your Boyds have any connection to the Douglas or Andersons?
