Can some one who is on the Ancestry Board advise "Lile" 1) James Boyd is the second most common Boyd name after John Boyd. In the 1700's and 1800's NEARLY EVERY BOYD FAMILY HAD AT LEAST ONE JAMES BOYD. 2) So the Philip Boyd (which is very uncommon) in the 1810 Census for Monroe County VA (now West Virginia) MIGHT NOT BE THE FATHER OF A JAMES BOYD BORN IN 1803. 3) You will need to check James Boyd death certificate or the newspaper account of this death and hope that it lists his parents. 4) If you think that James Boyd was born in Monroe Co., WVA, you will need to join the rootsweb.com net list for this County and "advertise" with more details about your James Boyd and his family. PLUS the [email protected] net list and the other location lists you know that James Boyd moved to. 5) The DAR Patriot Index of 1990 has these entries John: b 1-9-1760 VA d 1829 IN m Nancy Martin Pvt Wgn VA Thomas: b 1754 PA d 11-14-1814 TN m Nancy Ann Martin 2Lt PA These Boyd/Martin families may or may not be connected to your James Boyd's family 6) You will need more information than what you have provided to ensure that you have James Boyd's parents ARE PHILIP BOYD. If you have anymore more information I would greatly appreciate it! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
