It details the arrival of early Scots to Massachusetts, and is a very readable account. 3. Has anyone on this list read this book? What period in Massachusetts history goes it cover? By the use of "Blandford Scouts" would suggest that the "Scots" were involved in some war? While it is known that the Penn's in Pennsylvania encourage both Ulster - Scots and German migrants to settle on the boundaries to defend the Quakers, so did the good Fathers of Boston do the same think in the 1600's? When reading this - if no Boyds are mentioned - you will need to pay attention from where in Ireland and Scotland people were coming from. This may help other members do a reverse migration pattern on their own families. While I have not found any direct Boyds in MA before about 1720, we know that there were Boyds in Rye, Ct (now in NY) in 1680's but at this time have we do not know their origins. Good reading.
