Members There are a number of lists of Boyd that we have, that we need to turn into Family Chapters in the Clan Boyd Pyramid. Below is the list of Boyd Household in CT in 1790. BOYD,Francis CT Co:Litchfield Twp:Woodbury BOYD,Abraham CT Co:Windham Twp:Plainfield BOYD,Joseph CT Co:Windham Twp:Voluntown Do any of these belong to your family? If so, could you please tell the list and what you know of their origins, etc So questions of where these Boyd families came from need to be answered. Did they come down from Boston, MA or come out of New York City (some of the early travellers from the suburbs). Or did these families come directly from overseas? I will be putting these three families into Volume 23 of Clan Boyd of Scotland for Boyd families from Conneticut/RI. So does anyone have access to the County Histories for Litchfield and Windham Counties CT to see if these Boyd families are outline in those books? Mike, I am pretty well useless when it come to family research subsequently I am currently at a loss with my current research of the Boyd family. I don't know how to answer your question as I do not know which list my family belongs to. All I know is that William Boyd of Swansea was my great grandfather, his daughter was my grandmother, ( Maud Gertrude Boyd daughter of William of Swansea NSW ). As family research is not my strongpoint it is now that I have to ask for assistance as I have hit the proverbial "brick wall ". The furthest that I have been able to research is that Willaim Boyd of Swansea was my great grandfather and that's it. Can anybody assist me with this? Ant start will help.
