Susan, I am approaching you for assistance in the matter of the above brothers. In reference to these two brothers ie William and Thomas Boyd all I know is that they were residents of Swansea in NSW Australia but where they came from originally I do not seem to be able trace. My relationship to these Boyds is that William Boyd would be my great grandfather on my mothers side. William had at least one child who was Maud Gertrude Boyd who married Walter Lambert James she being my grandmother but I do believe that she was born in Swansea and if the memory works correctly she was born circa 1888. I do not know who William Boyd married either so that I am now in a position that I know basically nothing in regard William Boyds family history. This whole thing has become a puzzle to me and I am now wondering if you know of any other researchers searching this family who maybe of assistance to me. Under normal circumstances I would not approach anyone to assist in my family history as I do not normally have a problem but I do with this family. The two Boyd brothers, Thomas and William were early settlers at Lake Macquarie NSW Australia and were both boatbuilders and fisherman. I have not even been able to trace the death of William Boyd or his burial place and this of course makes research a little more difficult. The only children I know of to William Boyd was my grandmother ( Maud ) and I do not know of any of Thomas' family. I would appreciate it if you could at the very least show me in which direction I should travel to gain more info on these two Boyd brothers and who they married in or around Lake Macquarie district of NSW. Are you of any assistance in tis matter or do you know any particular person or persons who may be able to assist me?
