To add to Bruce's comments and brick wall. Bruce is also a Y DNA match to my Boyd father (R1b-U198) yet the science of that to a common Boyd forefather goes back much further in time than the 1800s. Ironically, Bruce Boyd's ancestor though and my own Boyd paternal line appear in Caldwell County, KY at the same time in the 1800s. This is a very unpopulated county by today's standards, so I can only imagine how unpopulated it was back then. Quite the coincidence and mystery.
