V4 Samuel Boyd, b / /1782 ( , Ireland?), d 8/8/1862 ( , Ireland?), bu , m / /181x (church, town, county, etc), Jane/Jean Crilly, dau of and (nee ) Crilly, b / /1785 ( ), d 30/6/1865 ( ), bu , and had issue:- [Lived: ] - In 1817 a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Ballymoney. The large gap between the four known children would suggest that other children were born to this couple. So did they die at birth or shortly afterwards? As you can see I have have that they were members of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Ballymoney, so it would be worth contacting the Ballymoney Library to see if they have a list of the burials at this Church. If not you will have to go to the Local Studies section at Ballymena Library. I see that this Samuel died in 1862, so that will mean that he will have an Official Death Certificate. I am not sure if you need to go to PRONI or the Ulster Registary Office. (Or you may need to even go to Dublin.) Greetings again, Would anyone have any information on a Samuel Boyd of Ballywindelland, Ireland in the 1700s most likely, now called Ballywindland? I’m sorry I don’t have much more insight to provide on that. I believe there could be others on the list who might be familiar with their own Boyd line deriving from this area and that of a Samuel Boyd in that approximate era? This would shed more light for me on my own line... Thanks in advance for any insight at all. Kind regards, Laury
Mike, Thank you so much for your great insight. This will most definitely help me with a foundation on learning more. The belief is this Boyd family came from Scotland to this exact area as early as 1608, the Scotland and Ulster origin coincides heavily and accurately with Y DNA knowledge. From my understanding, Balleywindlenad is quite the unpopulated farming area and there was a farm that this particular Boyd family kept there that somehow closely relates to my line for roughly 200 years there up until just a few decades ago… Sincerely, Laury > On Dec 9, 2015, at 2:21 PM, Mike Boyd <mikejboyd@bigpond.com> wrote: > > Sorry - hit send instead of paste. > > V4 Samuel Boyd, b / /1782 ( , Ireland?), d 8/8/1862 ( , Ireland?), bu , m / /181x (church, town, county, etc), Jane/Jean Crilly, dau of and (nee ) Crilly, b / /1785 ( ), d 30/6/1865 ( ), bu , and had issue:- > [Lived: ] > > - In 1817 a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Ballymoney.
