Greetings, Does anyone have information perhaps on a George Boyd who resided in Caldwell County, Kentucky, d. 1839? My direct line ancestor was John P. Boyd of Caldwell County Kentucky (b. 1810 d. 1877) m. Sarah Plunkett Rucker. My ancestor is found to be an executor on the estate of George Boyd. When looking at George Boyd's Estate Settlement found in the "Index to Settlement With Administrators Executors and Sales Inventories in the Caldwell County Clerk's Office”, the following was found on microfilm by an individual who relayed this information to me: John P. Boyd is listed as the administrator of George's Estate. He purchased a few of the items sold and a John Boyd, Sr. is listed as purchasing a few items also. The listing in the book is George Boyd S/1839, Box 9 on p.3. 1839 is George's death year. That individual was hoping to find names of spouses or children of this George Boyd, but did not. In the Caldwell Co marriage book 1833-1853, these children were found. George Boyd is given in each as the person who gives permission for his children to marry. 1831 Catherine Boyd m. Boyd ancestor would have been George's administrator? I suspect he may have been a son or other relative given him being an administrator on the estate of this George Boyd. John Boyd, Sr. is also of interest to us. Would anyone happen to have any insight in his or her personal documents on this family of George Boyd of Caldwell County, Kentucky, as it seems it would shed more light on my own Boyd line that is well documented from my own ancestor John P. Boyd forward to which my direct line ultimately migrated to New York in the late 1800’s. Kind regards, Laury Boyd Long
